Elevating Roof Systems
Elevating a roof system can be done for a residential home, and many projects we work on are for a commercial or multi-use setting.
Residentially, a roof may be raised in order to preserve a perfectly new or good roof, while at the same time adding an additional upper story. Commercially, roofs are elevated to achieve more vertical storage space as in a warehouse or retail space, to accommodate larger, modern equipment, or install clerestory windows providing additional natural light, etc.
At Atlantic Structure Movers, we have the expertise and experience to address your needs.
The International Association for Structural Movers (IASM) honored Jay Thompson with distinguished awards ‘In Recognition of Outstanding Achievement for the ‘Widest Structure Moved’ and the ‘Structure with the Most Square Footage on One Level’ after he raised a 23,000 square foot dome roof on an athletic auditorium at Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York. The additional height allowed the school to host regulation sports events.
